Three Strikes and You’re Out

You wanted to lose weight so you read half a dozen weight loss books, watched Dr. Oz talk about weight loss for a few weeks, and skimmed through a few fitness mags. See the problem. You’re on the sidelines when you need to be in the game.

Let’s keep going with the weight loss example. Most people know what to do to lose weight: exercises, eat veggies, stay away from processed foods and yet too many continue to seek out an endless pile of fad diets, weight loss pills, and magic glitter body wraps.

Some are hoping for an easy way out of hard work, others are driven to get more of the same information because they actually think their being productive. Reading 10 books on exercise means nothing if you don’t exercise.

Instead give yourself a max of 3 opportunities to research how to achieve your goal. For example you could read a book, talk to an expert, or watch a video. However, anything above the 3rd time is usually just one step on the endless road called procrastination. After you’ve looked a three different resources or less, you’re done—go out and actually do.
